Job Summary:


The Senior Technician, GMS and Casino Systems integrates and supports software solutions for BCLC’s gaming facilities. This includes product testing, installation, problem resolution, and vendor escalations to contribute to an exciting and dynamic player-focused entertainment experience.  This role is responsible for integrating and implementing software solutions to meet compliance and business requirements. The Senior Technical Analyst acts as a consultative partner by providing technical subject matter expertise, analysis and advice to internal stakeholders within BCLC as well as to external stakeholders.


This role is subject to the requirement of after-hours support.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Provides technical, analytical, and subject matter expertise to enterprise-wide IT projects by directing vendors and BCLC technical delivery teams. Shares knowledge with peers through presentations and training.
  • Plans, tests and ensures compliance and integration for the implementation of software solutions and projects with internal stakeholders.
  • Participates in the development of business requirements and assists product development by monitoring and collecting feedback from user groups and liaising with vendors to provide technical/functional specifications and solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Conducts varied and moderately complex technical troubleshooting, problem management and issue resolution work related to casino, bingo and surveillance systems to ensure the effective and efficient use of software at all gaming facilities throughout BC.
  • Proactively researches, recommends and applies the latest technology and industry best practices and standards
  • Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining technical documentation and user manuals within knowledgebase(s).
  • Responsible for capacity planning to ensure the efficient utilization of resources to meet the business and customer demand..


Minimum Required Qualifications:


Education and Experience

  • University degree in a relevant discipline or a two-year college diploma supplemented by relevant industry recognized IT certifications;
  • 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in an IT environment;
  • Experience in Information Systems: testing, integration and support is required;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Technical Requirements

  • Ability to make informed decisions quickly and to prioritize under pressure;
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft database and server operating systems;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and innovative thinking;
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills;
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project is an asset;
  • Ability to coordinate and direct vendors and internal delivery teams, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team/consultative environment;
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment with changing priorities;
  • Understanding of B.C. gaming industry would be an asset.


Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and provide after-hours support as needed.
