Joining the Legal, Compliance, Security (LCS) team at BCLC means you’ll be working with a trusted, player focused team of professionals dedicated to ensuring the safety of our players and that our business does not create an opportunity for illicit activities. This is the group that oversees anti-money laundering, investigations, compliance, corporate security, asset protection, privacy, freedom of information, records management, legal services, corporate policies and data governance, which form the basis of many things we do at BCLC.
Job Summary:
The Records Administrator supports BCLC’s Records Management Program in complying with the Information Management Act, British Columbia, the Administrative Records Classification System (ARCS) and Operational Classification Records Systems (ORCS) information schedules, and BCLC policies. This role carries out functions related to the management of corporate records through their life cycle and will directly support an initiative to identify, classify and process physical records housed in off-site storage in collaboration with relevant records custodians. This role also supports ad hoc assignments related to records retention requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborates with the Records Management team on the Off-site Records Storage Initiative and ad hoc assignments related to records retention requirements.
- Provides information, guidance and advice to records custodians. Collaborates and builds strong working relationships with relevant records custodians in order to identify, classify and process records in accordance with government-approved ARCS and ORCS.
- Provides status reporting and metrics as required. Recommends process improvements and develops, maintains and updates instructions as required.
- Identifies issues and concerns and escalates appropriately.
- Liaises with the Records Management team, BCLC Warehouse and off-site storage contractors for the storage and retrieval of off-site records.
- Functions in a team environment and provides general support to advance BCLC’s Records Management Program.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- A diploma or post-secondary certification in a business discipline;
- Completion of BCLC’s Records Lead Basic Training e-module is recommended;
- 1 to 2 years recent, related experience;
- Records management knowledge and experience is an asset;
- Strong knowledge of BCLC and organizational structure is desirable;
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Technical Requirements

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals and teams;
- Ability to use initiative, problem solve, and work independently and within a dedicated team;
- Ability to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Ability to prioritize and juggle workflow;
- Solid organizational skills;
- Office software skills, including proficiency in Excel;
- Experience with M365 and other software tools is an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Some lifting up to 35 lbs. is required.
