Joining the Business Technology team at BCLC means you’ll be working with cutting-edge technology to help build a world-class entertainment company. This is an engaged, innovative, capable group of talented individuals working in digital enablement, product delivery services, technology platform enablement, enterprise services, integrity and operations. This enables us to execute the purchase and validation of lottery tickets at over 3500 lottery retailers, manage a complex network of 12,000 slot machines and electronic table games across the province and provide the backbone for BCLC’s eGaming platform, and much more.



Job Summary:

Working in a landscape of billions of transactions, you understand the strategic advantage of data and analytics. Our goal is to use data, analytics, and machine learning to provide sustained operational advantages for BCLC. In a nutshell, we’re looking to spend more of our time on activities that have high customer and market value, and less on things that don’t. We believe that effective use of data and automation will help paint the path forward. We’re looking for a proven senior leader to drive our maturity. 


Key Accountabilities:

The role will lead our data platform and automation teams while driving, educating and advocating for the importance of these platforms. The successful candidate will have strong listening skills in order to identify how data can best support stakeholder goals, as well as the ability to inspire action and innovation throughout the company by shaping a data-driven culture. This includes building capabilities by delivering technology expertise in data modeling, data lakes, data science, predictive analytics, performance dashboards, reporting analytics and tools. Continuing our automation journey to enable our teams, agile practices and data centre transformation, you are also a subject matter expert in the fields of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and applying it to create business insights. You understand the business imperatives tied to these strategic projects. The goal of this function is to consistently improve production quality, deliver effective customer service, and accelerate new solution delivery.


About You:
•    Keen reader of people, culture, and building and leveraging relationships to make things happen.
•    Strong executive presence, able to inspire, listen to understand and build a sense of urgency in those around you.
•    Confident communicator and articulator of your vision
•    Love to wear multiple hats.
•    Highly functional in a dynamic, challenging environment.
•    Bachelor’s in Business, Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Management of Information Systems or Information Technology. An advanced degree would be an asset;
•    8-10 years’ in Information Technology, including at least 5 years’ experience in a managerial capacity;
•    A strong understanding of software development agile delivery methods and tools with ability to embed Agile as a set of behaviors; 
•    Ability to take a strategic lens to enterprise transformation, identifying opportunities to make strategic shifts, and focusing effort around high-value opportunities;
•    Proven experience in managing business operations with experience in resolving issues and identifying, managing and eliminating risk;
