Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Services, the Product Owner plays a leadership role on two Agile product teams. They are responsible for the mission of the teams and bringing the business unit vision to the teams.  They are the voice of the customer, translating the business and market need into product or service requirements and will maintain close interaction with the Agile product team and supporting Platform team to ensure alignment. 

The Product Owner Employee Experience is responsible for leading a strategy for personal computing, collaboration tools and meeting rooms with a strong focus on the customer experience. They engage team members in developing methodology, defining processes, standards, and best practices, selecting tools; and managing people, financial resources, vendors, and contractors.

Key Accountabilities:
•    Defines the product roadmap, collaborating with stakeholder groups to understand the business strategy and determine priorities. Actively manages the product backlog, prioritizing it according to business value.  
•    Leads the mission of the product team. Communicates the business unit vision to the product team including contributing to the development of user stories.  Evaluates the outputs on behalf of stakeholders, including acceptance of final product.
•    Leads the prioritization, planning and breakdown of the product team work in collaboration with the product team. 
•    Participates in the product team’s agile ceremonies such as planning sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint review meetings.  
•    Provides leadership and coaching to the combined teams with aligned skill sets.  Models leadership behaviors that support engagement of teams by practicing meaningful recognition, inspiring a shared vision, coaching/mentoring and developing others, performance assessments and supporting culture and change management initiatives. 
•    Develops and manages the strategy, planning, methodology, process, standards, best practices, implementation and advice for the Platform team, including oversight of applicable technologies and systems.
•    Ensure the team workforce has the capabilities, skill sets and resources to effectively deliver on short and long term strategic business objectives.  Assesses current workforce to identify and action skills gaps.  Promotes the development of T-skills among team members.
•    Guides recruitment initiatives for teams with the support of HR.  Develops talent pipelines for roles, including the identification of succession planning candidates for placement into development roles.
•    Engages specialists across the organization, or contractors, in addition to product team members.  Manages contracts that are needed to deliver the product, with support of the BT vendor management.
•    Negotiates with leaders and other stakeholders to remove team impediments, issues and blockers, including escalating to the appropriate levels within the organization when they cannot be resolved at the team level.  
•    Collaborates with other product owners on the prioritization of cross-team dependencies and deliverables required by other product teams.
•    Reports to stakeholders, including the executive sponsor (VP), Directors or other product teams on the progress and status of product team deliverables.  Proactively identifies risks and opportunities and makes recommendations for resolution.
•    Manages the budget and forecasting associated with the combined agile and capability teams.  
•    Manages vendor performance and contracts including creating Statements of Work (SOW) and Request for Proposal (RFP).
•    Identified risks related to the product, develops and implements risk mitigation strategies and reports on risks.  


Minimum Required Qualifications
Education and Experience

•    A post-secondary degree in business administration, information technology management or a related discipline;
•    5 - 7 years recent, related experience as well as experience in a leadership capacity;
•    An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.


Technical Requirements

•    MS O365, SharePoint, Email, Teams, Dialtone, Managed Print, Desktop computing equipment, Meeting Room tech;

•    Extensive knowledge and experience with the specific product supported by the team;

•    Proven knowledge in agile methodologies and tools;
•    Excellent organizational and planning skills;
•    Demonstrated expertise at a management level for business planning and road mapping, and a track record of successful management experience in a collaborative, fast-paced business environment;
•    Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with managers, employees and peers;
•    Strong influencing and negotiation skills, written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving, analytical thinking/innovation, time management and multi-tasking skills.
•    Excellent organizational and planning skills with a strong attention to detail; project management skills and meets tight timeframes and commitments and is accountable for results. 
•    Strong strategic thinking skills – ability to find innovative yet practical strategies to achieve goals, links several strategies into a unified plan, while anticipating needs and looking future focused;
•    Vendor and contract management, SLA’s and service management;
•    Believes in continuous improvement and driven to question and improve processes, systems, practices as appropriate.
