We operate national and provincial lotteries in partnership with 3500 retail partners, provide the games, technology & oversight to 37 brick & mortar casinos, and operate a safe secure and 100% legal online gambling presence PlayNow.com. In our recently completed fiscal year, BCLC generated a record $1.5 billion in net income to the Province of B.C. to support First Nations, host local governments, health care, education and community programs across the province.
The Team
Joining the Business Technology team at BCLC means you’ll be working with cutting-edge technology to help build a world-class entertainment company. This is an innovative, capable group of talented individuals working in Digital Development, Delivery Services, Data Enablement & Automation, Technology Platform Enablement, Technology Operations Enablement, Enterprise Services, and Cyber Security. This enables us to execute the purchase and validation of lottery tickets at over 3500 lottery retailers, manage a complex network of 12,000 slot machines and electronic table games across the province and provide the backbone for BCLC’s iGaming platform, and much more.
The Analytics Delivery team designs, builds and maintains data and analytics products used by all levels of the organization to drive strategy and decision making. The team focuses on delivering reusable, governed and intuitive self serve analytics capabilities to the organization. In essence, the team brings data to life using compelling visualizations and storytelling to deliver insights that drive the business forward.
The Role
Specializing in visualization and insight generation, the Analyst Analytics Delivery 2 delivers analytics products that are easy to use, following all internal design and release standards. The Analyst Analytics Delivery 2 understands the business objectives and tailors the data available to provide insights back to the Product Owner.
What you will accomplish
- Build visually compelling, accessible, intuitive analytics products, including interactive dashboards and custom insight presentations.
- Closely collaborates with the Data Analysts and Data Integration Specialists to understand detailed business needs and develop reporting and analytical solutions.
- Create and maintains technical documentation for analytics products, user documentations and guides.
- Designs, develops and executes queries to access and expose data layers to be used in providing business insights.
- Analyzes data and provides verbal and/or written recommendations for Product Owners.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, such as Business Analytics, Information Technology, Marketing, Business Analysis, or Statistics;
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in development of data and analytic solutions, including a minimum of 3 years proven technical experience working within a complex business environment with the demonstrated ability to analyze business situations and develop innovative solutions to complex solutions
- A combination of education and/or experience may be considered
What will make you successful
- Experience with the following: developing end-to-end analysis with limited guidance; data intelligence best practices; visualization techniques, segmentation, core KPI development, promotion/campaign ROI analysis and post analysis; data analysis and designing reporting solutions including (but not limited to) dashboards, portals, and report objects; web analytics
- You can write technical documentation, including reports and procedures.
- You have a passion for making things better and improving processes and systems.
It would be awesome if you also had
- You have worked in an agile atmosphere before.
- You understand the B.C. gaming industry.
- You have worked in a cloud-first environment before and understand cloud infrastructure and cloud data warehousing
- You can effectively communicate complex analytics solutions to non-technical people.
