The Team

The Role
This role is instrumental in implementing and delivering an operational and strategic workforce planning framework.  The Senior Specialist acts as a consultative partner and builds relationships with all business units/stakeholders and external sources as related to the development of workforce planning, succession planning and recruitment strategies.


Our ideal coworker has strong active listening skills, is self-directed, influential, empathetic, creative, loves problem solving and has a passion for learning.  They also have a strong understanding of people data, understand the application of workforce planning activities, are able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and work collaboratively with all areas of P&C. They will have the ability to visualize data and tell a story through presentation.  It's critical you have a strategic mindset and can quickly learn BCLC’s business to ensure BCLC has the right people to deliver on exceptional gambling entertainment, today and tomorrow. We are looking for someone who knows how to manage their time effectively and can prioritize the tasks in front of them.


What you will accomplish

  • Analyze relevant data to forecast workforce needs and conduct assessments to ensure BCLC has the resources it needs to delivery on organizational strategies.
  • Acts as a resource to internal stakeholders to provide support for operational and strategic initiatives that require the use of organizational resources.
  • Identifies skill gaps within the organization and provides recommendations through the use of data analysis.
  • Work with People Insights & Analytics and the business to help shape the design and development of predictive modelling to create scenarios or forecasting models to help the organization make fact-based talent planning decisions and proactive people strategies pertaining to future workforce.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of an operational and strategic workforce planning framework, methodologies and processes.
  • Provide workforce planning services to the business including analyzing workforce and skill gaps, as well as developing a workforce planning action plan including monitoring progress and updating the business.
  • Facilitate discussions on key strategic workforce trends and demands, predictive resourcing and capability insights, and future skill gaps.
  • Establishes and effectively manages BCLC’s succession planning processes, including high-potential, critical role and critical knowledge assessments. Works with P&C stakeholders and business leaders to ensure effective development plans are put in place to address these roles.
  • Designs and presents finding in presentation format to all levels of leadership, including C-Suite.

 

What will make you successful

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (business management and operations, human resources, etc.)
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in P&C Business Partnering combined with a solid understanding/ experience working with people workforce data and insights or related experience in previous roles involving strategic workforce planning
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated application of best practices in the full range of workforce planning activities
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical documentation and explain complex information in an effective manner
  • Proven ability to simplify complex sets of data to create understanding and to work with large amounts of information to provide actionable insights
  • Proven experience in influencing and helping business stakeholders to frame their business problems
