Job Summary:

The Brand Manager, Corporate designs, manages and implements marketing plans strategies and campaigns for BCLC’s corporate brands.  The Brand Manager, Corporate ensures BCLC’s reputation and brand positioning are always strategically considered and applied to all marketing materials and programs.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads, and is responsible for the development of diverse, creative and specialized brand plans and strategies for the assigned portfolio (BCLC).
  • Responsible for the creative development and production of integrated marketing and advertising campaigns, including the development of traditional and digital creative assets, working with internal and external stakeholders, e.g. media and creative agencies. Ensures campaigns are executed on time and on budget.
  • Ensures that advertising campaigns are composed of the right mix of tactical elements and execution is effective in driving performance and meeting business goals.  Manages multiple traditional and digital media tactics.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop content marketing plans, campaigns and assets for execution on ‘owned assets’ (e.g. web, social media, digital signage) based on overall brand strategy.  Including content calendar management, campaign briefs, targeting, budgeting, creative development and execution. 
  • Leverages data, analytics and research to provide innovative marketing solutions and identifies opportunities and enhancements to improve brand awareness and understanding for the corporate brand.
  • Helps to manage a governance framework for the corporate brand including the execution and representation of the brands by internal stakeholders and external partners, as well as the creation and management of brand books, graphic standards and proactive brand oversight.
  • Proactively builds, develops, maintains and manages strong working relationships with various internal departments and external stakeholders, including business partners, suppliers, regulatory and government bodies.


Minimum Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a Marketing or Business discipline;
  • 3 to 5 years current, related marketing experience, preferably with experience managing a large corporate brand in a high profile organization;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.


Technical Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in the areas of reputation management and brand management;
  • Demonstrated experience in the strategic development and implementation of integrated marketing and communications plans and materials;
  • Sound and proven knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in marketing and advertising;
  • Demonstrated experience in the strategic development and implementation of  integrated marketing and communications plans;
  • Excellent problem solving, innovative thinking and analysis skills;
  • Proven experience working in advertising, digital or branding agency or a client-side role with agency management responsibilities;
  • Ability to validate marketing and advertising plans against corporate needs/objectives, strategize solution implementation and identify implementation risks;
  • Strong understanding of consumer research and market dynamics;
  • Proven leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with close attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of BC gambling industry or public health concepts is an asset.
