BCLC is seeking a Senior Advisor, Leadership Development to join our Talent Development team. This role will report to the Manager of Talent Development and be based in either Vancouver or Kamloops.

BCLC is embarking on a culture evolution to one with increasing emphasis on agility, continuous improvement, customer focus and collaboration. The Senior Advisor, Leadership Development is essential to this transformation and this role is an exciting opportunity to help drive this change! Key accountabilities:

  • Works collaboratively within Talent Development, HR and BCLC overall to ensure BCLC’s leadership and learning programs are designed and delivered to meet BCLC’s organizational needs.
  • Conducts and oversees leadership and learning development needs assessments.
  • Conducts industry research and incorporates the latest innovative thinking on leadership, strategy and culture.
  • Leads the develops and delivery of leadership development and learning programs that include a variety of delivery approaches, such as, on the job learning, learning through others, online learning and training workshops.
  • Develops programs, practices and training to embed coaching as a common approach for how we work throughout BCLC. This includes use of external coaches, leadership peer-to-peer coaching, communities of practice and managers utilizing coaching skills.
  • Develops and facilitates workshops and training sessions.
  • Acts as a senior learning advisor to leaders within the organization and HR department regarding leadership development.
  • Manages external vendor partnerships and contracts related to BCLC’s leadership programs.
  • Ensures alignment of eLearning courses offered in BCLC’s learning management system (LMS) with BCLC’s leadership programs and competencies.
  • Provides support to leaders on team building activities and team dynamics.
  • Evaluates program and learning effectiveness.
     
    Education and Experience

 

  • University degree in adult education, talent management or a relevant discipline.
  • Certified coach.
  • Certified Instructional Designer or Instructor Development Certificate.
  • A professional designation such as CHRP or CPLP is preferred.
  • 4-6 years recent related experience, including a minimum of 4 years experience in the development, delivery, sustainment and measurement of leadership development programs.
  • Experience leading and facilitating workshops/training sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with, coaching and developing leaders at all levels.
  • Related experience in Human Performance Management Consulting and/or Talent Management.
  • Previous experience with leadership assessments.
  • Previous experience with competency assessments.
     
    Technical Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong computer skills – MS office suite.
  • Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with vendor and contract management.
     
    Working Conditions

 

  • Ability to travel between BCLC offices and field locations, as required.

 

 An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
