Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Retail Infrastructure and Product Management develops strategic plans for, researches alternatives, develops an implementation strategy for and oversees implementation and client-side integrations of technologies that supports the sales of lottery, sports and casino products in the retail space.  Works with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and service providers to develop unique solutions, ensures technology selected fits with the strategic direction of the retail market and is sustainable. The role leads project teams with both internal BCLC and service provider stakeholders to prioritize, communicate and manage the development of the retail transactional infrastructure.
 
Accountabilities:
•    Researches technologies, makes recommendations and develops business plans for new retail equipment capital investments. Develops capital equipment budget, presents business cases for capital expenditures and makes high risk financial decisions.
•    Is a major contributor in the determination of the long term strategic roadmap for the retail transactional infrastructure.  Participates in strategic planning, aligning work with strategic imperatives, and leveraging cross-functional capabilities to the benefit of the system.  Negotiates and manages vendor and maintenance contracts. 
•    Proactively oversees the resolution of all issues within entire area of management by resolving critical and highly sensitive and confidential issues, as well as delegating issues to staff and ensuring the outcomes and their integrity.
•    Proactively develops, maintains and manages high profile relationships with various internal stakeholders to leverage cross-channel opportunities, as well as with external stakeholders including the service partners, vendor/suppliers, and regulatory and government bodies in order to develop strategic partnerships and achieve desired  business outcomes.
•    Models leadership behaviours that support engagement of staff such as practicing meaningful recognition, inspiring a shared vision, communicating with staff regularly, coaching/mentoring others, conducting performance management and supporting culture and change management initiatives.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience

•    A degree in a business discipline such as business administration;
•    7-8 years related progressive experience in product management, with at least 5 years at the management level;
•    Experience in managing business relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders with a track record of proactively resolving issues through the management and elimination of risk; 
•    An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

 

Technical Requirements
•    Advanced knowledge of principles, concepts, practices, techniques and tools in the areas of project management;
•    Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business situations, develop solutions, evaluate outcomes, and readjust solutions for improvement;
•    Strong working knowledge of third party vendor contracts and maintenance agreements;
•    Strong technical background and experience with systems development, quality assurance best practices and hardware technology.
•    Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills;
•    Proven ability to deal with sensitive matters with a high degree of diplomacy, tact and confidentiality;
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders;
•    Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
•    Ability to influence or gain acceptance of others through written and oral communication methods, including presentations;
•    Strong computer skills - MS office suite, presentation software, and work/productivity/mobile applications;
•    Understanding of B.C. gaming industry is an asset.
