Job Summary:
This position supports BCLC’s strategy for Player Health by developing and implementing content, programs and policies designed to increase safer play and reduce harms associated with sports betting. 


Key Accountabilities:
•    Leads the design, implementation and oversight of strategies to promote healthy play and reduce harms associated with sports betting. Defines objectives and monitors and evaluates the impacts of prevention responses.
•    Develops policies, procedures and communications relating to Player Health in sports betting.
•    Leads research efforts to identify gaps in policies or programs, and provides direction for future programming. 
•    Monitors developments and trends in the sports betting industry and maintains a deep understanding of sports betting customer needs, behaviours, and business drivers. Identifies opportunities for Player Health policy enhancement or development and prepares related recommendations. 
•    Works closely with business units to identify player health risks and opportunities. Coordinates with Marketing, Player Experience, Operations, Legal, and Business Intelligence to ensure successful roll-outs, communications and adoption.
•    Provides project management support for the development and implementation of new Player Health tools, player support initiatives and their integration among business units.
•    Researches, defines, recommends and implements new digital Player Health technologies across the mobile customer experience.
•    Proactively develops, maintains and manages strong collaborative relationships with internal departments, vendors/suppliers, service providers and regulatory bodies to ensure that information and commitments are met. 

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience

•    A degree or diploma in psychology, sociology or public policy (Master’s preferred);
•    4 to 6 years recent, related progressive experience, preferably in responsible gambling;
•    Experience with policy development, program design and evaluation;
•    Experience managing projects and working within tight timelines;
•    Experience with stakeholder engagement and issue resolution;
•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Technical Requirements
•    Sound knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in the areas of research, prevention, marketing, communications and social purpose;
•    Strong understanding of sports betting; 
•    Strong understanding of player health and self-exclusion;
•    Strong understanding of and experience applying research methodologies, statistics and data to insights and action;
•    Strong understanding of the global iGaming market and key trends;
•    Ability to manage large scale projects and program developments;
•    Familiarity with marketing/advertising processes;
•    Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with managers, employees and peers;
•    Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills;
•    Excellent organizational and planning skills with a strong attention to detail; meets tight timeframes and commitments and is accountable for results;
•    Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
•    Excellent initiative and ability to respond to emerging issues;
•    Strong business acumen with a results oriented focus;
•    Believes in continuous improvement and driven to question and improve processes, systems, practices as appropriate;
•    Strong ability to maintain confidentiality; possesses diplomacy and tact;
•    Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite.
